Intergroup is run by an elected committee from the A.A members within our community. Without these individual and others like them, there would be no Intergroup.

Newsletter Chair

The Newsletter Chair shall prepare all content layout and design for the Pass It On newsletter, collecting announcements from Intergroup Office, coordinating submissions from members and/or GSO approved content. The newsletter is published several times a year.

Archives Chair

Receive, classify, and index all relevant material, correspondence, and literary works and artefacts considered to have historical importance to Alcoholics Anonymous in the mid-Island area. May be asked to provide presentations for special events.

Intergroup Member at Large

An Intergroup member-at-large is a member of the Operating Committee of the Intergroup, which is a service entity in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). The Intergroup is a partnership of AA groups in a community that supports the groups in carrying the AA message.

Co-Chair Positions

If you are interested in a service position inquire about a potential co-chair opportunity.  A great forum to bring up these types of opportunites are at the monthly Intergroup meetings.

Treasurer

Working closely with Intergroup Office staff, the treasurer shall oversee the bookkeeping at the Intergroup office. The treasurer shall prepare and present a monthly and year to date financial position to the monthly Intergroup Committee meetings. The treasurer shall be a signing officer. 

 

Newsletter Chair

The Newsletter Chair is responsible for creating, compiling, and distributing the group’s newsletter to keep members informed of upcoming meetings, events, service opportunities, and announcements. This role involves gathering content from trusted servants and members, ensuring accuracy and anonymity, and distributing the newsletter in print, digital, or both formats. The Chair may also coordinate with the Secretary, GSR, and other service positions to ensure timely and relevant information is shared.

Intergroup Co-Chair

The Intergroup Co-Chair supports the Intergroup Chair in coordinating the activities of the local Intergroup, which serves as a communication and service link between AA groups and the broader fellowship. Responsibilities include helping to plan and lead Intergroup meetings, assisting with committee coordination, and stepping in for the Chair when needed.
