Treatment & Accessibility
Members of Bridging the gap provide a connection point between those leaving treatment centers and the AA community.
Requirements:
- Coordinate AA meetings and presentations in treatment and healthcare facilities within the District.
- Work with local facilities to establish and maintain cooperative relationships, ensuring clear understanding of AA’s purpose and traditions.
- Recruit and support AA members to bring meetings into treatment centers or to serve as Bridging the Gap contacts for clients leaving treatment
- Term Length: 2 year
- Suggested Length of Sobriety: 2 Years
Bridging the Gap Co-Chair
Members of Bridging the gap provide a connection point between those leaving treatment centers and the AA community.
Requirements:
● Suggested minimum continuous sobriety of 2 years
● The Treatment Chair is a member in good standing of a District 7 home groups
● General service knowledge is an asset, i.e. previous (GSR experience)
● An understanding of the Traditions
- Term Length: 2 year
- Suggested Length of Sobriety: 2 Years
Secretary
The District Secretary supports the effective functioning of the District by maintaining accurate records, facilitating communication, and ensuring that information flows smoothly between the District Committee, General Service Representatives (GSRs), and Area Service structures.
Requirements
- Record accurate minutes of each District meeting and distribute them promptly to all GSRs, District officers, and Area contacts.
- Maintain an up-to-date contact list of District officers, GSRs, and committee chairs.
- Manage District correspondence, including emails and notifications from the Area or General Service Office (GSO).
- Ensure that meeting agendas, reports, and other documents are shared prior to meetings.
- Term Length: 2 year
- Suggested Length of Sobriety: 2 Years
